The BYD Song Ultra is a mid-size five-seat SUV measuring 4,850 mm long on a 2,840 mm wheelbase, and it is sold in two distinct powertrain families. The pure-electric versions run on an 800-volt high-voltage platform that supports BYD's flash charging, taking the battery from 10% to 70% in about five minutes and from 20% to 97% in roughly twelve minutes even at -30 degrees Celsius; they deliver 605 km or 710 km of CLTC range from a rear-mounted motor. The DM-i plug-in hybrid versions pair a 1.5-litre engine with an electric drive unit for 205 km or 310 km of electric-only CLTC range plus very low fuel consumption once the battery is depleted, and they fast-charge in about 17 minutes. A fixed panoramic glass roof is standard across the Leading, Exceeding and Excellence trims, while heated and ventilated front seats, front-seat massage and a 16-speaker audio system in place of the standard 8-speaker setup arrive on the higher grades. Electric trims can additionally be specified with BYD's God's Eye B assisted-driving package with LiDAR.
